SWEDISH
Swedish is the foundation for all massage modalities. Promotes relaxation and circulation for the muscles through gentle kneading and long flowing strokes with rocking, tapping and passive joint movement.
DEEP TISSUE, NEUROMUSCULAR THERAPY, TRIGGER POINT & MYOFASCIAL RELEASE
These modalities require a deeper application of pressure than Swedish massage. Lauren blends these techniques together to achieve pain relief. Deep Tissue targets “knots“ in the connective tissue to ease pain, stiff or sore muscles, imbalances and tightness. Trigger points are hypersensitive spots in the muscles which require deep manipulation to relieve. Neuromuscular Therapy and Myofascial Release penetrate further into soft tissue to unwind fascial adhesions. This work is deep, slow, steady and allows your body to relax and rebalance. The result combats acute or chronic pain leaving you with more mobility and agility.
CRANIAL SACRAL THERAPY
Cranial Sacral Therapy bodywork helps to decompress the bones in the skull, sacrum and pelvis through light touch. This modality is extremely relaxing and calming for the nervous system. It can help alleviate migraine headaches, TMJ, neck pain, sinus congestion and sleep disturbance.
REFLEXOLOGY
Uses gentle to firm pressure on solely the hands and feet. The whole body can be treated through one’s upper and lower extremities to increase circulation, enhance energy, relieve anxiety, improve digestion and promote overall health function. This bodywork is also a wonderful way to achieve the positive results of a massage without having a full body massage.
CUPPING
This ancient eastern modality has been used for thousands of years to enhance “Chi”(energy), pull out toxins and release muscle fascia. Cupping paired with deep tissue work is an extremely effective way to move and release stuck toxins that get stored in connective tissue
MUSCLE ENERGY TECHNIQUES
Lauren combines movement therapies such as; Positional Release, Active Release, Isometric Work, Thai Massage, Sports Massage and Facilitated Stretching. These modalities all share the common principles of improving flexibility, releasing trigger points which cause pain, and increasing blood flow to soft tissue.
PRENATAL MASSAGE
Carrying a baby changes your center of gravity adding stress to your back, neck, abdominal muscles, and shoulders. Pregnancy also relaxes your ligaments, making your pelvic joints less stable. Pregnancy pulls your pelvis forward, changing your posture. The extra weight you’re carrying commonly causes an aching lower back. Prenatal Massage relaxes tense muscles, eases sore spots, improves circulation and mobility, and makes you feel more balanced.
SHIATZU
Shiatsu is based on the traditional Chinese concept of Qi, which is sometimes described as an “energy flow”. Qi is channeled through certain pathways in the human body, known as meridians, causing a variety of gentle and relaxing effects.
